Weekend Wanderer: The Camper Charter Packing Guide

If you are new to campervanning or a seasoned traveller, a packing checklist is always useful. At Camper Charter, we like to try and make your experience as enjoyable as possible. Use this handy checklist to help you pack what you need.

Consider space: It's a small campervan, so pack light, only bring what you truly need and consider the season!

Sleeping & Comfort

  • Sleeping bags or duvet

  • Pillows (inflatable or compressible for space-saving)

  • Bed sheet or sleeping bag liner

  • Extra blanket (for chilly nights)

  • Earplugs & eye mask (optional but handy)

Cleaning and Kitchen

  • Tea towels (2-3 for drying dishes and general cleaning)

  • Paper towels or kitchen roll

  • Bin bags (for rubbish and recycling)

  • Aluminium foil and/or cling film

  • Ziplock bags or containers for leftovers

  • Cooler or cool box (campervan fridges are quite small)

  • Reusable water bottle

Food and drink

  • Food for all meals + snacks (prep meals in advance where possible and think easy meals)

  • Tea/coffee + milk (and sugar if needed)

  • Condiments (in sachets or mini bottles) including oil or spray oil

Wet Weather & Comfort

  • Compact umbrella

  • Laundry bag for dirty clothes

  • Book, journal, cards or small games

  • Head torch or lantern

  • Power bank for devices

  • USB charging cables

  • Reusable shopping bags

  • Picnic blanket or outdoor mat

  • Foldable coffee cups or thermos flask for drinks on the road

  • Small Backpack/Day Bag

Personal Essentials

  • Clothing (weather-appropriate + layers) inc:

  • Sleepwear

  • Waterproof jacket suitable for the season

  • Warm jumper or fleece

  • Swimsuit (for wild swims or campsite showers)

  • Comfortable walking shoes/trainers

  • Flip flops or easy slip-ons (for camp use/showers)

  • Toiletries:

  • Toothbrush & toothpaste

  • Map or printed directions (in case signal fails)

  • Portable BBQ and charcoal (if allowed)

Space-Saving Tips

  • Roll clothing instead of folding

  • Use vacuum storage bags for bedding

  • Pack items inside other items (socks in shoes, etc.)

  • Bring multi-purpose items where possible

  • Pre-plan meals to avoid over-packing food

Before You Go Checklist

  • Check weather forecast and pack accordingly

  • Confirm what's provided with the campervan rental
